# Find customer profiles synced from STOQ in Klaviyo

Every time a customer signs up for a back-in-stock or preorder alert through STOQ, their profile is synced to your Klaviyo account with a set of custom properties. This article explains how to find those profiles synced from STOQ in Klaviyo by creating a segment, and how to connect that segment to your existing Klaviyo flows. If you have not set up the Klaviyo sync yet, start with [How to Sync STOQ Customer Data to Klaviyo](https://help.stoqapp.com/en/article/how-to-sync-stoq-customer-data-to-klaviyo-y8b6yi/) first.

### How STOQ Identifies Synced Profiles

STOQ tags every profile it syncs to Klaviyo so you can identify them easily.

* Each synced profile receives a custom property called **source**, which is set to your **Profile tag** value. The default is `restock-rocket`.
* STOQ also adds additional custom properties to each profile, including `StoqBackInStock`, `StoqAcceptsMarketing`, `StoqCountry`, `StoqCountryCode`, and `StoqLocaleCountry`.

You can use any of these properties to find and filter STOQ profiles in Klaviyo. The most reliable method is to create a segment based on the `source` property.

| Tip: You can view or change your profile tag in the STOQ app by going to Back in stock alerts > Settings > Integrations > Klaviyo > Profile tags. If you change the tag, make sure to update your Klaviyo segment condition to match.

### How to Create a Segment for Profiles Synced from STOQ

Follow these steps to build a Klaviyo segment that groups all customer profiles synced from STOQ in one place.

##### Step 1: Open Lists and Segments

1. Log in to your **Klaviyo** dashboard.
2. Click **Audience** in the left-hand menu.
3. Select **Lists & Segments**.

##### Step 2: Create a New Segment

1. Click **Create list / segment** in the top-right corner.
2. Choose **Segment**.
3. Give the segment a clear name, such as "STOQ Signups" or "STOQ Back in Stock Subscribers".

##### Step 3: Set the Segment Condition

1. Under **Definition**, click **Add condition**.
2. Choose **Properties about someone**.
3. In the property field, type `source`.
4. Set the operator to **equals**.
5. Enter your STOQ profile tag value in the value field. The default is `restock-rocket`.
6. Click **Create segment** to save.

Klaviyo populates the segment with all profiles that match this condition. New STOQ signups are added automatically as they are synced.

##### Including Existing Profiles (Optional)

Some customers may have already existed in your Klaviyo account before you enabled the STOQ integration. STOQ adds the `StoqBackInStock` property when it updates these existing profiles. To capture both new and pre-existing profiles, add an **OR** condition to your segment:

1. In the segment definition, click **Add condition** again.
2. Switch the logic to **OR** (instead of AND).
3. Choose **Properties about someone** > **StoqBackInStock** > **is true**.
4. Save the updated segment.

This ensures your segment includes every profile that STOQ has touched, even if the `source` property was already set by another integration.

### How to Connect the Segment to Existing Flows

Once your segment is ready, you can use it to trigger or filter your existing Klaviyo flows.

##### Use the Segment as a Flow Trigger

1. In the Klaviyo dashboard, go to **Flows** in the left-hand menu.
2. Open an existing flow or create a new one.
3. In the flow editor, click the **Trigger** block.
4. Choose **Added to segment** and select your STOQ segment.
5. Save the flow.

Any profile that enters the segment from this point on will trigger the flow.

##### Use the Segment as a Flow Filter

If you want to add STOQ profiles to an existing flow without changing its trigger:

1. Open the flow in the Klaviyo flow editor.
2. Click the trigger block and look for **Recipient filters** or **Add a condition**.
3. Add a condition to include members of your STOQ segment.
4. Save the flow.

This lets you layer STOQ data onto your current automation without rebuilding it.

##### Custom Properties You Can Filter By

STOQ syncs several custom properties to each Klaviyo profile. You can use any of these in segment conditions, flow filters, or campaign targeting.

| Property | What It Tells You | Example Value |
| ---- |
| `source` | Where the profile came from (your STOQ profile tag) | `restock-rocket` |
| `StoqBackInStock` | The customer signed up for an alert through STOQ | `true` |
| `StoqAcceptsMarketing` | Whether the customer opted in to marketing | `true` or `false` |
| `StoqCountry` | The customer's country | `United States` |
| `StoqCountryCode` | Two-letter country code | `US` |
| `StoqLocaleCountry` | Combined locale and country | `en-US` |

| Tip: Use StoqCountryCode in segment conditions to target STOQ subscribers from specific regions (for example, StoqCountryCode equals US for United States customers only).

### Known Limitations

* Profiles synced before the Klaviyo integration was enabled do not exist in Klaviyo and will not appear in any segment.
* If you changed the **Profile tag** in STOQ after some customers were already synced, older profiles have the previous tag value. Your segment condition must account for both values (use an OR condition).
* The `source` property can be overwritten if another integration syncs the same profile with a different source value. Use the `StoqBackInStock` property as a backup filter since it is unique to STOQ.
* Segment population is not instant. Klaviyo may take a few minutes to process new profiles into the segment after they are synced from STOQ.

### Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely Cause | Fix |
| ---- |
| Segment shows zero profiles | The `source` value in the condition does not match STOQ's profile tag | Open the STOQ app, go to **Back in stock alerts** > **Settings** > **Integrations** > **Klaviyo** > **Profile tags**, and verify the value matches your segment condition |
| Segment shows zero profiles | The Klaviyo integration is not connected | Open the STOQ Integrations page and check for the green **Connected** badge next to Klaviyo |
| Some profiles are missing from the segment | The profile tag was changed after earlier profiles were synced | Add an OR condition using `StoqBackInStock` equals `true` to catch all STOQ profiles regardless of the tag value |
| Profile exists in Klaviyo but has no STOQ properties | The profile was created by another source and STOQ has not synced a matching customer | STOQ only adds properties when a customer signs up for an alert. Profiles created outside STOQ will not have these properties |
| New signups are not appearing in the segment | There is a short processing delay | Wait a few minutes. Klaviyo needs time to evaluate segment conditions for newly synced profiles |

### FAQs

**Q: What is the default value of the source property?**
A: The default value is `restock-rocket`. This is set by the **Profile tags** field in STOQ's Klaviyo integration settings. You can change it at any time, but only new signups will use the updated value.

**Q: Can I search for a single STOQ profile in Klaviyo?**
A: Yes. Go to **Audience** > **Profiles** in Klaviyo and search by the customer's email or phone number. Click the profile to view its properties, including `source`, `StoqBackInStock`, and other STOQ custom properties.

**Q: How do I find profiles if I changed the profile tag?**
A: Create a segment with an OR condition: `source` equals the old tag value OR `source` equals the new tag value. Alternatively, use `StoqBackInStock` equals `true` to find all STOQ profiles regardless of the tag.

**Q: Can I export the STOQ segment from Klaviyo?**
A: Yes. Open the segment in Klaviyo, click the three-dot menu, and select **Export segment**. Klaviyo generates a CSV file with all profiles in the segment.

**Q: Does the segment update automatically when new customers sign up?**
A: Yes. Klaviyo segments are dynamic. Any new profile that matches the segment condition is added automatically after STOQ syncs it.

**Q: Can I use the STOQ segment in Klaviyo campaigns?**
A: Yes. When creating a campaign in Klaviyo, you can select the STOQ segment as the recipient list. This lets you send targeted emails or SMS messages to customers who signed up through STOQ.
