Collect customer name

Stoq now supports collecting customer names through the back-in-stock signup form. This enhancement not only facilitates personalized notifications but also ensures seamless integration of customer data with marketing platforms.

This feature is available exclusively to merchants on the Standard plan and above.

Add Customer Name to your signup form

On the Stoq app, go to 'Back in stock alerts' from the left menu bar.
Under 'Signup widget' tab, click on 'Customize form'

Under 'Signup form' tab, click on 'Customer name'
Activate the feature by enabling the checkbox for 'Collect customer's name'
The placeholder to collect the name of the customer can be customized as per your preference.
Preview your changes on the right of the page. Once done, click 'Save' on the top right.

Once enabled, merchants have the flexibility to mark the name field as either:
Mandatory: Customers will be required to fill in their name to complete the sign-up. To make it mandatory, enable the checkbox for 'Make this field mandatory' and click 'Save' on top right of the page. Once enabled, the customer will see an error if they submit the form without adding in their name. The error message can be edited in the 'Name error' field.
Optional: Customers can choose whether or not to provide their name.

Add Customer name on Back in Stock Email

After collecting the customer names through the signup form, you can now add in into your back in stock emails sent to your customers to make it more personalized. To do so, follow the steps as below:
Head to 'Back in stock alerts' from left menu bar.
From the 'Notifications' tab, click on 'Customize email'
Use the variable {{ customer.name }} to add in the name of the customer in the subject line, heading or description of the back in stock email
Make sure to check the preview on the right. Click 'Save changes' on top right to save your changes.

Sync customer name to Marketing Platforms

If you have the sync to Shopify, Klaviyo, Mailchimp or Omnisend feature enabled on Stoq, the customer name will be automatically synced along with all the other data regarding the signup.

Reports

Customer name can be viewed in all of the reports on the app. Additionally, you can export this data from all of the 'Reports' on the app by clicking on 'Export CSV'.
